We currently have the following vacancy - Admin Support Officer
Saxonbury House Medical Group is looking for a new admin support officer to join our existing team. This new role has been created to cover reception duties in the morning and more specific administrative work that the admin team and medical secretaries cannot complete in the afternoons. The position is full time over weekdays except Thursday but we would entertain job share arrangements for the right candidates.
Full training will be given and the person will be working closely with the Practice Manager supporting some of the more technical aspects of General Practice work.
The role requires an excellent telephone manner, great interpersonal skills, computer literacy, high levels of accuracy and a determination to see tasks through to completion. Delivering excellent patient care is something the team have to achieve, without fail, as our doctors need to know that information received is communicated to them correctly, and that tasks set by them are completed to a high standard in a timely manner.
The successful candidate needs to be able to populate spreadsheets and ideally understand how to create and edit them. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word is also required. Due to the need to cover some of the secretarial work we would ideally have someone already competent as an audio typist and used to dealing with digital dictation.
We are an established GP Surgery providing Primary Care Services to the Crowborough area in East Sussex. We have a patient population of over 9,000 patients with 4 GP Partners and 2 Salaried GPs. As a teaching Practice we also have qualified doctors undertaking their GP rotation regularly and currently have one Registrar. We have 3 Practice Nurses, an excellent Health Care Assistantand a very experienced Emergency Nurse Practitioner joining us in October.
We have taken part in the General Practice Improvement Programme and continue to review our structures and processes, which have led to an increase in productivity and improved our excellent levels of service. Our organisational culture is a learning one, where opportunities for improvement can come from any member of the team, with solutions openly discussed.
The hours are 37 hrs per week with overtime available due to holiday cover, training and other absence. Days required are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 08:00 to 18:00 and Friday 07:45 to 19:00. As stated this is a full time position but we will entertain job sharing arrangements for the right candidates.
