We cannot accept repeat prescriptions over the telephone unless you are housebound. Prescription requests have to be in writing.

It is helpful when ordering repeat prescriptions to provide an explanation at the time of request if there are any changes i.e. ordering early due to a holiday.

Please make sure that you have ticked all the items that you want on your repeat prescription.

Working days do not include weekends or public \ bank holidays as we are not working. For clarification the prescription box is emptied at 12:30 every day. Therefore prescriptions collected at 12:30 on a Monday will be available in the pharmacy after 12:30 on Thursday.

Requesting Medication before it is due

There are times where patients need to request medication before it is due and when this happens we ask that a reason is included with the request, such as going on holiday and therefore away when the medication is due to be dispensed.

For clarity we have agreed the following timescales for patients submitting requests for repeat prescriptions.

For Patients on 1 month prescriptions we will process requests submitted up to one week early. For patients on 2 monthly prescriptions we will process requests submitted up to 10 days early.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
